Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What types of senior housing communities does Retirement Resources work with?

A:   Given the variety of individuals that we assist, the types of communities and the services they provide, also vary greatly.  These range from communities for seniors who do not need healthcare services but are looking for an Active Adult Community, Continuing Care Retirement Community or a Rental Retirement Community.  If a client is in need of healthcare or additional services, a Retirement Resources consultant will research the appropriate communities such as, Assisted Living, Memory Care Facilities, and Nursing Homes.  At this time, Retirement Resources does not work with home health care placement.

Q:   We are just starting to think about an Active Adult or Continuing Care Community but are several years away from making a move.  Should we wait until we are ready to move to begin our search?

A:   If you wait to start researching until you are ready to move, odds are you may have waited too long.  Most established Active Adult and Continuing Care Communities have waiting lists that range from a year to five or more years.  It is important to start your search now, before you are ready.  That way you can pick the community you want and not settle for what is available.

Q:   Some senior housing websites offer referrals at no cost to the consumer. Why is this not the case with Retirement Resources?

A:   Some senior referral sites receive their funding from various senior housing communities. These sites in turn only offer referrals to the communities that sponsor them. At Retirement Resources, we work directly for you and do not limit your choices to a few senior providers. When looking for an appropriate senior community we look at all the quality communities in the area and find the match that is right for you.
